Welcome to EORG-L. We have a lively bunch and manage to share information = and opinions freely. I hope you will find us somewhat normal most of the time. I, too, am an organbuilder. Perhaps we will find ways to exchange ideas that will advance our state of the art. That would be nice. Appreciatively, F. Richard Burt firstname.lastname@example.org
(back) Subject: Re: [Residence Organs] New room for the organ... From: <Pipewheezr@aol.com> Date: Thu, 17 Aug 2000 10:46:16 EDT O.K. here is my two cents. The room for organ was built 30'Xalmost 20' with a roof of the normal 8' going to 16' with a shelf at ten feet up for pipes. I hid the blower under = the stairs in my shop office. The floor is 2X16's at 8" on center, the insulation guys had more stuffing to do. We did not double gyp but it is = 5/8 of an inch thick. NO SOFT ANY THING IN THE ROOM !!!!!!!!!. And it really sounds good. If you look at my web site you will see a 8' set of Gemhorns with a little = dog in front, behind that screen is 16'reeds and a 2 rank pedal mix is = going in there also. There is attic space behind the stairs where the regulators are hiding, = the relay boards are on the garaged wall under the attic. When placing the organ put the console as far away from pipes as = possable.I started with console 10 feet or so from the pipes. The fellow who is = voicing said that I will be the normal audience organs sound better when you are a = way from the speaking part. If you would like pictures of what I did a lot are not on the web page, it = may be help full to you. Dennis in sticky Sandy Eggo

(back) Subject: help! From: "Gary Black" <email@example.com> Date: Wed, 16 Aug 2000 10:08:19 -0500 HI Everyone, yes school has started and I have only the 8'stopped diapason playing. I need some words of wisdom here. I have a Peterson relay and this is the question. I have the stopped diapason playing and hooked into the relay. No problem there;however, I have the open diapason hooked in too and when the stop is drawn, it also plays the stopped diapason along with it without the stopped diapason being drawn. What do I need to do so that I can play the open by itself? Inquiring minds like mine need to know! Help! Thanks, Gary
