They at least to my ears seem to have more character than the open flutes. Of course mouth cutups, etc. affect how much harmonics will be developed. Also if they're tapered, such as the Nazard and Block Flute. Harmonic flutes also are unique soundwise. So... they all have their place depending on the sound desired/ needed for a particular piece of music.   I have for the Manuals:     16/8' Gedackt (Stopped) 8' Rhor Flute (Partially Stopped) 4' Koppel Flute " " 4' Harmonic Flute (Open) 2 2/3' Nazard " 2' Block Flute " 1 3/5 Tierce " 1' Siff Flute "   And possibly a few more in time.     Eric      
(back) Subject: Re: expression shades From: "Daniel Hopkins" <> Date: Fri, 10 Nov 2000 03:58:32 GMT       I have in the past week ,had no option but to install my expression = shades on the pipechest I procrastinated for a long time till my cat made me do it I got them mounted horizontal,and they open as balanced.Now the question = is What do I need to do to open and close them I think i will use a hitch down type if possible there is nothing to indicate what way they had beeen operated in the past.Any ideas and diagrams available for me to be able to figure this = out, my mind is not really clear on the lever thingys All help is greatly appreciated ,I really want to get them operational Thank you Daniel WH 2000 E.
