From: "Jane and Dave Whitmore" <> Date: Sat, 07 Oct 2000 21:31:31 -0400   Like Larry in New York we've had a cold and wet summer up here in Vermont. =   The beginning of the fall semester has eaten up a lot of free time so the organ is on the back burner again.   The 2-3 Wicks in now playing again in the living room after having been rebuilt from top to bottom. This was a complete rebuild including new wiring and some replacement valves in the DE chest. Most of this work occurred last winter and the installation was done in the early summer before the lawn and pool demanded constant attention.   However, it's not quite done. There's still some wood refinishing left to do on the case and the bench needs to be refinished too. Unfortunately we've lost the summer and the warm weather so this operation needs to be moved from the barn to the basement. The varnish smells do create a = problem....   The low octave of the 8' diapason needs to be installed pending the construction of a "gun rack" to mount them horizontally. Also, I've obtained a 8' string extension and I need to build a little offset chest for it. No way this will be done before 2001.   So that's how our little project is going. Thanks for the encouraging news =   from the rest of you folks--it's very inspiring when morale starts to sag.   Dave in Vermont
