(back) Subject: Blower Experiments From: "Larry Chace" <rlc1@etnainstruments.com> Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2000 10:20:26 -0400   I received a note from Allen Miller explaining the true reality of the blower situation at Shea's Buffalo Theatre. I had misunderstood the details of the application of the variable frequency drive in that situation. Here is what Allen wrote:   "Shea's blower has a new motor rated at 1150 RPM at 60 Hz. The original = 25 Hz blower ran at 1475 RPM.   "The new motor is being run at about 77 Hz in order to boost its speed as necessary to obtain the original 37" static. (The 32' Diaphone is on 32" wind.)"   A quick back-of-the-envelope calculation shows that the new motor, running =   at 77Hz, is also turning at 1475 rpm (1150 * 77 / 60 =3D 1475.8), and as a =   result, the Spencer Turbine's fans are running at their accustomed speed.   Sorry for any confusions!   Larry Chace
(back) Subject: Building My Own From: "Jason Comet" <diapason32@hotmail.com> Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2000 16:50:54 EDT   I am, just like most of you, in the process of building my own pipe organ. = The pipes are going to be located in a heated/enclosed porch. I plan on running the windlines through a basment window to the organ.   However, I am short of parts.... a lot of them..... most of them.....all =   of them.....   If anybody knows of any lead, not on Theatreorgans.com and Church Organ Trader, please let me know.   I also have a Conn Theatre Organ for sale or I could trade it for a Unit organ - or any major portion of it.   Thank you Jason Comet _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.   Share information about yourself, create your own public profile at http://profiles.msn.com.

I throw away a lot of organ = components because I cannot find anyone to give them to. I cannot pack or ship most items.   Al Sefl
