Instead, a plank of wood inside the pipe pivots on two screws and is the tuning device, a bit like the metal tuning flaps on some small wooden pipes. That being said, maybe the lowest pipes might not run out of speaking length after all if they were to be converted to 32' stopped rumblers....   Thanks for all the replies, comments, etc.   Robert Pelletier
