Some will tell you that you = =3D must have so many feet of windline or a certain number of elbows in =3D order to have a proper tremulant. I don't believe that there is a magic = =3D formula and one must experiment to achieve good results.   In my own pipe organ, I have a 20" x 30" single valve regulator with no = =3D weights on it. The flexible windline feeding my 3 rank windchest is =3D 4". My tremulant 7" X 16" comes off of the regulator and is a 3" =3D flexible wind line that is 5' long. It has no weights on the regulator = =3D or the tremulant. Some may argue that this tremulant shouldn't work. =3D However, it works better than any other tremulant I ever installed. It = =3D is completely adjustable and can go from very fast and shallow to deep =3D and throbbing. It's amazing! =3D20   Experimenting is the best thing I can suggest. First make sure your =3D regulator, tremulant, and windlines are sized properly for the ranks =3D they are servicing. From there you can try various weights and lengths =3D of tremulant lines.   Steven Durham Portland, OR=3D20     ----- Original Message -----=3D20 From: Daniel Hopkins=3D20 To: Residence Organ List=3D20 Sent: Friday, July 05, 2002 7:38 PM Subject: [Residence Organs] Tremulant Placement and windline     Is there any particular way a tremulant should be installed for best = =3D results. how long is the best length of windline and how many elbows are =3D needed, and should the lines be going ,up or down or side to side, I dont think I am getting the right effect with mine, I was thinking = =3D of what might be the problem.
