(back) Subject: Midi question & Thanx From: "W. D. Heimer" <dheimer@sensible.net> Date: Mon, 15 Jul 2002 11:42:27 -0400   This is a multi-part message in MIME format.   ------=3D_NextPart_000_0017_01C22BF4.B1EB5600 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=3D"iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable   First I'd like to thank y'all for the heartfelt welcome to the list. It = =3D is reassuring to know I'm not the only nut out there.   I am considering midi-ing the monster in the cellar. I initially used = =3D an Intermidi module to temporarily tie an electronic keyboard to the =3D primary. Now that the organ is complete, in the long run I want to:   Tie the console to the Peterson SS relay Do it in increments i.e.. do the great first, then the swell, finally =3D the pedal Would like to have record/playback Consider having playback only initially, so I would only need the midi =3D to pipe module at first Use Cakewalk to run the show Have a degree flexibility so as to grow with the instrument Perform this in the most cost effective manner   There are pix and a layout diagram of the organ at the website listed =3D below   I reckon some of you have already performed this operation on your =3D instruments and could let me know the pros and cons of the various stuff = =3D out there. Thanks, Dave = =3D Heimer     =3D20       Dave & Margie Heimer 2160 Armor Bridge Road Greensboro Georgia 30642 706-467-3926 - Home 706-343-0033 - Office dheimer@sensible.net - E-mail www.heimer.siteblast.com - Website   ------=3D_NextPart_000_0017_01C22BF4.B1EB5600 Content-Type: text/html; charset=3D"iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable   <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D3D"text/html; charset=3D3Diso-8859-1" =3D http-equiv=3D3DContent-Type> <META content=3D3D"MSHTML 5.00.2614.3500" name=3D3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>First I'd like to thank y'all for the = =3D heartfelt=3D20 welcome to the list.&nbsp; It is reassuring to know I'm not the only nut = =3D out=3D20 there.</FONT></DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>I am considering midi-ing the monster = =3D in the=3D20 cellar.&nbsp;&nbsp; I initially used an Intermidi&nbsp;module to =3D temporarily=3D20 tie&nbsp;an electronic keyboard to&nbsp;the primary.&nbsp;&nbsp; Now =3D that the=3D20 organ is complete, in the long run I want to:</FONT></DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>Tie the console to the Peterson = SS=3D20 relay</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>Do it in increments i.e.. do the = great =3D first, then=3D20 the swell, finally the pedal</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>Would like to have =3D record/playback</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>Consider having playback only =3D initially, so I would=3D20 only need the midi to pipe module at first</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>Use Cakewalk to run the =3D show</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>Have a degree flexibility so as to = grow =3D with the=3D20 instrument</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>Perform this in the most cost = effective =3D   manner</FONT></DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>There are pix and a layout diagram of = =3D the organ at=3D20 the website listed below</FONT></DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>I reckon some of you have already =3D performed this=3D20 operation on your instruments and could let me know the pros and cons of = =3D the=3D20 various stuff out there.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; = &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;=3D20 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; =3D &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;=3D20 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; =3D &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;=3D20 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; =3D &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;=3D20 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Thanks, Dave Heimer</FONT></DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial size=3D3D2></FONT>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D3DArial=3D20 size=3D3D2>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Dave =3D &amp; Margie=3D20 Heimer<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2160 =3D Armor=3D20 Bridge Road<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; =3D Greensboro=3D20 Georgia 30642<BR>706-467-3926 - Home&nbsp;&nbsp; 706-343-0033 -=3D20 Office<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <A=3D20 href=3D3D"mailto:dheimer@sensible.net">dheimer@sensible.net</A> -=3D20 E-mail<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <A=3D20 href=3D3D"http://www.heimer.siteblast.com">www.heimer.siteblast.com</A> = -=3D20 Website</FONT></DIV></BODY></HTML>   ------=3D_NextPart_000_0017_01C22BF4.B1EB5600--
