(back) Subject: Wicks trem adjustment From: "Drew Taylor" <drewt@loritsu.com> Date: Sun, 13 Apr 2003 13:13:09 -0400   Is there anyone on the list who has knowledge of a Wicks beater tremolo? I = am playing around with one on a small organ I have but its tending to be = unstable. The air volume is relatively low and the pressure is around 2.5" = throughour the entire instrument. When connected directly to the regulator it's very = stable, but when the rest of the organ is connected it becomes unstable and hard = to start. After adjusting the depth and speed I can occasionally get it to = start going but any fluxuation in wind and it stalls. I am assuming that the = airflow from the blower is not enough. I haven't had any experience with these = tremolos so I may be doing something completely wrong.   Happy Easter!   -Drew Taylor

If so, then nothing about the wind should affect it.   Most of them that I am familiar with, even the early ones, are electrically actuated, and don't have anything to do with pneumatics.   Can you provide a diagram of what you have, in terms of how it's hooked-up?   Faithfully,   -- Richard Schneider, PRES/CEO SCHNEIDER PIPE ORGANS, Inc.
