(back) Subject: Chest placement. From: "Robert W. Taylor" <rtaylor@socket.net> Date: Wed, 7 May 2003 09:27:49 -0500   Hi Listers,   I am looking for suggestions about placing my great chest within the expression chamber This chest is chromatic. The dimensions are such that a walk space between the chest end and the wall can only be at one end. The question is which end?   Would it be best to have the walk space at the bass end or the treble end?   Bob Taylor

(back) Subject: Re: [Residence Organs] Chest placement. From: "Nelson Denton" <ndenton@cogeco.ca> Date: Wed, 7 May 2003 12:53:28 -0400   It would normally be best to place the walkboard at the treble end. = Remember you tune small pipes far more frequently than large pipes. If reaching the long pipes proves to be a problem you can always resort to the "Organtuners-friend" tm. Simply a broom handle with a nail in one end.   A walkboard set crosswise above the pipework part way down the chest would also help. Even just having a sturdy 2x4 place across would give you = some support while you leaned over to tune the larger pipes.   Belly Flops onto pipework is a Olympic Sport that was only practiced in = the later Roman Empire games. Survivors had organ stops named after them.   Hohl Flutus, Tibias Missingus, Opened Diapasus.   Nelson.
