(back) Subject: Re: Re: [Residence Organs] Organ available, immediate removal From: "BRIAN GRAHAM" <qax@prodigy.net> Date: Wed, 26 Nov 2003 13:18:10 -0800 (PST)   Here's a tip for the potential taker:   You might be able to use a considerably smaller truck than 26' if you know how to shoe-horn it in. I don't have the e-mail handy, but I think it was said that the organ in question is 6 or 7 ranks, right?   Josh at Organ Clearing House masterminded the packing of my 18 ranks (w/ 3-16footers), chimes, HUGE Estey concert harp, chests, regulators, swell frames and shades, console, & orgoblo into a 25' Ryder. All w/o damage.   In addition to careful placement, the key was to wedge 8foot 2x6's across the cargo box resting on the padded metal rails these moving trucks have, then put 1/2" plywood on them.   Voila! Temporary friction-fit mezzanine for long bulky items (zinc basses, windlines, etc.).   Happy Moving!   -Brian   --- <maiku41@anet.com> wrote: > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Ron Natalie > Sent: 11/25/2003 5:41:46 PM > To: sdurham11@comcast.net;DIYAPASON-L@pipechat.org > Subject: Re: [Residence Organs] Organ available, > immediate removal > > > Forgot to mention, me and the organ are located in > Northern > > Virginia, a few miles from Washington Dulles > airport.
