(back) Subject: JESSE CRAWFORD BOOK?? From: danbel@earthlink.net Date: Tue, 21 Oct 1997 10:17:59 -0700 (PDT)   Greetings all,   A little while back someone posted that they were looking for a copy of John Landon's book about Jesse Crawford. While visiting my mother in Houston last week, I found the extra copy that I THOUGHT I had...but could not find! :)   At any rate, if the person interested is STILL interested, contact me by private email!   Thanks,   Dan Bellomy <danbel@earthlink.net>
(back) Subject: Carlo Curley's Second Concert From: kwkeller@juno.com (KARL W KELLER) Date: Tue, 21 Oct 1997 13:37:17 EDT   On Monday evening Carlo played his second concert in our area at the Allen Organ Company factory in Macungie, Penna. The organ used was the R-450 4 manual Allen that is "state of the art" in every way. I understand that the various ranks were sampled from some of the finest organs in the world which makes the R-450 as close, very close, to a pipe organ as can be obtained by an "electronic" instrument.   For those of you who read my post on Carlo's concert at the Grace Lutheran Church in Pottstown I will not bore you by repeating the program Carlo played except to say that the first and second numbers were changed to "Londonderry Air" and the Allegro movement of Handel's "Concerto in F". After the intermission the program was changed to include Cesar Franck's "Fantasy in A" and Elgar's "Chanson de Matin". Carlo announced that it had been a long time since he performed these numbers and said he would play from the score. Rudy Lucente, a highly regarded area organist, was called on to be "page turner" and this was accomplished with "class", never taking the focus from the artist or the music. For an encore Carlo played Bach's "Fugue in G (Little)" which brought the audiance to their feet for the second standing ovation.   For me, Sunday and Monday were very special days. With Carlo's very busy schedule it is not often that I get to hear him play a concert and being able to hear two concerts back to back was "icing on the cake" for me.   Karl Musica est Dei donum optimi
(back) Subject: Re: Looking for older Theatre Organ magazines From: GHamil9709@aol.com Date: Tue, 21 Oct 1997 13:45:48 -0400 (EDT)   In a message dated 97-10-10 18:21:24 EDT, you write:   > Anyone out there looking to dispose of older Theatre Organ magazines > please let me know, I want them (research, history, etc.)   Have you managed to find the old issues you were looking for?   I promised to check with the widow of a deceased friend who used to have quite a few of them. I did so and she reports that there is, indeed , some in their basement. I am to pick them up sometime in the near future. Like you, I am interested in looking through them and will do so. After that I will report further about sending some to you.   gene hamilton
(back) Subject: Concert Announcements (double post) From: Stephen F P Karr <karrlist@scescape.net> Date: Tue, 21 Oct 1997 18:50:54 -0400 (EDT)   Hi-   I told you earlier about a concert by Richard Morris at St. Paul's Episcopal in Augusta, GA. I now have part of his program.   Durufle: Toccata from Suite, Opus 5 Boellmann: Toccata from Suite Gothique Bach: (three guesses :) ) Liszt: Fantasia (or is it Prelude?) and Fugue on B-A-C-H   Tickets for adults are $15.00, children and seniors $5.00. If you're interested, I'll get you the number to call for them.   Also, on Sunday November 23, 1997, I will be giving a recital at St. Mary Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church at 3:00 PM. Admission is free. I will play:   Buxtehude: Praeludium in C-major Two Trios- Rheinberger: Trio in g-minor Krebs: Trio in D-major Mendelssohn: Sonata in c-minor Grave Adagio Allegro Maestoso e Vivace   INTERMISSION   Bach: Toccata and Fugue in d-minor BWV 565 Three Pieces for Advent- Pachelbel: Vom Himmel Hoch Zachau: Vom Himmel Hoch Bach: Wachet Auf Lemmens: Fanfare in D-major   ENCORE (hopefully it will be necessary)   Bach: "Little" Fugue in g-minor   One question for you, though. Do you think the intermission will be necessary? I don't take these pieces at Newman-esque speeds, but I'm not sure if the halves will be long enough to merit an intermission.   Thanks,   _____ | |_____ | || |_____ |Stephen || |_____ ______|F.P. Please do not disregard the letter, for it holds great force within it and has the power to grant all wishes. All you have to do is follow the Love Charm's directions carefully and you'll be amazed at how powerful it is.     To attract someone you have a crush on, perform the following exercise: 1. Make sure nobody's in the room., or at least not disturbing you. Relax, close your eyes, and visualize everything you want to happen. Concentrate .. 2. Do this for 2 minutes.   Then open your eyes and repeat the following:   Love so powerful, Love so true Come to me love To me I call you.     This excercise should soon take effect.     Now, scroll down quickly without stopping. When you get to the end, someone will be desparately in love with you the moment you stop scrolling. He/she may start calling you or talking to you, but you will hear from them within the next 2 hours, days, weeks, or months. It won't take longer than 2 months for them to confront you about their feelings Ready?
