From: "Sean Haley" <newgershwin@hotmail.com> Date: Sun, 30 Aug 1998 10:39:50 PDT   Hello everyone,   Since I have some first hand experience in this I just couldn't help but put in my comments. For over four years I have tried to get a small pipe organ (theatre or unit) to install in (what was) my high school's auditorium. When I heard rumor that the building was going to be renovated (it was built in 1932) I thought it would be the coolest thing to get the town's first (and only) pipe organ. The superintendent and the guy in charge of all the building work thought it would be a very favorable thing to have a pipe organ on the campus. Of course there was no way to get school funding for the project but I thought I would try it anyhow. Needless to say, several instruments (free donations!) have fallen in and out of my possession while I waited for decisions to be made. Now that I have graduated and I'm getting on with my life, I have put this project on the back burner. I still search for that "ideal" instrument to come along once again in hope of putting in the first pipe organ. For anyone that attempts this, a little advice... Don't wait for things to happen, you have to make them happen. It may take many years before those school district officials warm up to the idea, or for the right organ to come along. Just don't put your life on hold while you wait for everything to work out.   Best wishes, _____ | | Sean M. Haley / NWOrganer | | Organist,Pianist,Composer,Piano Tech.
