(back) Subject: Jelani/Cigarettes/Rialtofest From: JCarington@aol.com Date: Mon, 28 Dec 1998 22:30:59 EST   No, I didn't drop off the face of the earth, I just worked my b*%$ off and then went to Vegas for Christmas, and re-listed my house with another broker to boot. I haven't checked e-mail in nearly two weeks.   I know I told everyone I'd give a review of Rialtofest weekend, but due to a client from hell, I never had a chance to write one.   Well here it is: I hope it's an inspiration to you all.   I was so inspired by Jelani's performance at the Sanfilippo's that I thought to myself, "If this lad can play like this and go to law school at Yale, then I can quit smoking." So, after 17 years of chain-smoking, I went from 2.5 packs a day to 0 packs a day, and haven't had so much as a puff since his concert on Friday, November 13th. Today, December 28th, marks my 46th day of thumbing my nose at Joe Camel. My previous smoke-free record was 3 days, so I think I've got something going.   I've gained a ton of weight and now have more chins than a Chinese phone book, but I don't care. And Vegas didn't help any -- not the 77 cent breakfast specials at Arizona Charlies, or the 99 cent biscuits and gravy at the Golden Gate or the $5.00 prime rib and champagne Christmas brunch at the Stratosphere. Oink oink oink. . . but not a SINGLE cigarette!   So when I said Rialtofest was awesome, I am proving to you all that I wasn't just whistling Dixie.   As for my pics of the Geo. Wright organ, the battery in my camera conked out on the last exposure. It's one of those auto-everything cameras and I had to order the battery through the mail. I can't remove the film until the new battery comes in because the film door is electrically operated.   Happy Belated Holidays to all.   John Carington Chesterton, Indiana   PS: Before everyone asks, the house is a 2 BR cottage

I quit a month before you did, without Jelani,,but with Zyban, and none since after more years than I would care to admit to. Maybe we need a support group <G> Seriously,,,best wishes for continued lack of nicotine uptake,,,heheh.   -Roc

It's been seven years for me - after 30+ years of a carton a week. The American Lung Assn. and The American Cancer society have good programs in place to help you stay on track. ...If Jelani's playing makes this work - what a great concept for a CD! "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"; "Two Cigarettes in the Dark"; a medley of old TV jingles... Good Luck to you - that food DOES taste a lot better too!   Stan
(back) Subject: organ or piano arrangement[X-posted] From: ComposerTX@aol.com Date: Tue, 29 Dec 1998 02:40:32 EST   Does anyone have an organ or piano arrangement of music used in the Charlie Brown Specials? I think one that I'm looking for is called "The Linus and Lucy Theme." It may be in G or Aflat. Thanks for your help. Danny Ray Trinity Presbyterian, Dallas
