(back) Subject: Non-smoking, trackers, and such From: KriderSM@aol.com Date: Wed, 30 Dec 1998 08:11:21 EST   Pertaining to the "tracker" thread Bruce and others have developed lately, I find that: 1. trackers have a "one-track(er) mindset" ;-)   2. tracker instruments are a thing of beauty when one is allowed to watch the tracker mechanisms at work. Being an organ technician, I often watch the mechanical linkages in motion while diagnosing problems. Sheer poetry in motion!!! I have been unable to get the same feeling watching electrical currents "doing their things" :-(   3. Playing Melissa Manchester's "Come In From the Rain" on a tracker in classical style sounds just as awesome as a Bach piece would. BTW, read the words of this composition. IMHO the message carried therein holds its own against any pulpit sermon on forgiveness. Billy Graham could even replace his traditional "Just As I Am" with these lyrics.   4. Tracker instruments (if they can be easily opened to viewing) make terrific instruments for inspection on a church's monthly Open Console Night. The little ones just love to watch those long things move!!   5. Trackers are second only to Wurlitzers in fascinating me.   WurliStan

(back) Subject: Metalic Ducting From: bombarde8@juno.com (Jason D. Comet) Date: Tue, 29 Dec 1998 21:45:45 -0500   The old 3"dia. dryerhose that ran from the Swell engine to the Swell resivoir finally want up. Blowing a hole about the size of three quarters and ripping around the wires. I finally replaced it with aluminum ducting. However, this is only temporary. Sometime this year he will install PVC up to the enginge.   Well, that was my adventure yesterday.   However, I found out that you can't pull very hard on that aluminum hose. It is a single piece of aluminum that is spiraled around and crimped on the sides. You pull too hard, and it becomes uncrimped.     Jason Comet Junior in High School bombarde8@juno.com Begining Driver - Get off the streets! |\ Organist/Choir Director | | 2/13 C. E. That's HEAVEN!! Are there any places around here that are like that and are looking for an organist/choirmaster/carillionour?   I'm looking for a new position after Easter. My parents and I are leaving Bethany after my term as organist is up in Easter. I think that would be easiest on me starting out. You get everything you want and more. Then start adding thingsthat you don't like. and fix them yourself.   Jason Comet Junior in High School bombarde8@juno.com Begining Driver - Get off the streets! |\ Organist/Choir Director | | 2/13 C. (back) Subject: Organist-No Smoking Support Group From: "gregory@mke.earthreach.com" <gregory@mke.earthreach.com> Date: Wed, 30 Dec 98 09:03:36 -0600   Greetings:     I believe that I had my last cigarette on September 28, 1997 when I had a strange pain in my back and my wife rushed me to the ER.   Two days later I woke up and found that I had an aortic aneuism from the heart to the kidneys. The Dr. said no more smoking! That was it!   No withdrawal, etc.   But, don't let it get that far. Quit now. You can buy one or two CD's a month with the money you save. (I am keeping the $$ for a trip to Europe this summer).   Have a great New Year!   Tom Gregory Waukesha WI USA

I vowed that I would quit when cigarettes reached $.50/pack.   bruce cornely cremona84000@webtv.net
