However, you can change your mind and subscribe when you want to be back on the list. all of this can be done from the homepage, accessed from piporg-l. I will also send it to you separately. I would really like to be there, but traffic is so awful between Florida and DC on Sunday afternoon, and I'm afraid I wouldn't make it back for my 6pm "last chance matinee"!!   Do publish the reviews and buffet menu!   :~+~:~+~:~+~:~+~:~+~:~+~:~+~:~+~:~+~: o o o _____bruce cornely_____ o o o o o o cremona84000@webtv.net o o o o o o ___ O a H g S o ___ o o o   He cannot be a gentleman which loveth not a dog. --John Northbrooke

(back) Subject: Re: Pasadena FUMC From: sohmer@juno.com Date: Sat, 11 Jul 1998 14:29:21 -0400   Does anyone out west way - know the organ in 1st u.m.c.? Every Sunday afternoon i manage to catch about ten minutes of their worship service on cable. Credits never mention the organist or choir director, OF COURSE. It looks to me (unexperienced but a sometimes good guesser of facades) like it might be an on Skinner or evena Kimball..... am I close? Whatever, it sounds fairly good on my little tv, and last week's postlude toccata was quite fun, whatever it was.   Steve Ohmer Charlottesville VA   _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. What kind of lovely organ? Which setting of Psalm 23 is being sung?   My wife and I saw back to back episodes with the NEW vicuh, the woman, and the episode auditioning the quire. We laughed hysterically.   But I thought the organ was really lovely.   Steve Ohmer Charlottesville, VA   _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. (back) Subject: Re: Pasadena FUMC From: Stanley E Yoder <syoder+@andrew.cmu.edu> Date: Sat, 11 Jul 1998 19:56:01 -0400 (EDT)   The Kinzey/Lawn EMS/A-S opus list, first edition, has it that EMS 430 of 1924 was installed in "First Methodist Episcopal", Pasadena. Further, they say:   "4m, Gr., Sw., Ch., So., Ec., Ped. Dedication recital played by Arnold Dann in December 14, 1924; tonal changes in 1955 by A-S, #430-A; rebuilt in 1974 by Manuel Rosales reusing shades from #446 [St. John's Epis, LA] and chests from #893 [residence of Dr. R. B. Mixsell, Pasadena]; Schlicker console in 1974; now 4-65; damaged in 1989 earthquake."   Interestingly, the entry for op.893 says "console and some pipework now in storage in poor condition at Pasadena Presbyterian". To anyone with the new, expanded edition of Kinzey/Lawn: does it add anything further concerning #430?   Hope this helps,     Stan Yoder Pittsburgh
(back) Subject: Re: Pasadena FUMC From: <GSandlawn@aol.com> Date: Sat, 11 Jul 1998 21:42:04 EDT   Additional information re Skinner Opus 430 at First United Methodist, Pasadena, CA. When installed it contained 58 stops, 46 registers, 51 ranks, 3141 pipes.... there are now 64 ranks... the earthquake damage on 1989 has been repaired... I was not able to determine who did this work.   Sand Lawn
