(back) Subject: read and find out! From: bombarde8@juno.com (Jason D. Comet) Date: Fri, 4 Sep 1998 15:42:31 -0400   Well, school will start Tuesday up here in Watertown, NY. And our 'head organist' will be leving for Florida for the first time. This means that I will be the organist, choirmaster, and director of music at Bethany U.M. Church until April or so.   She doesn't give a hoot about the music there. She just sits and plays with 16' couplers. The entire church hates her husband. He's kind of the I'm going to tear down your beautiful, productive church with a reverbtime of 3 seconds and build a wood-framed, residential structure and make you all suffer. and I'm going to tell you how to do everything - kind of person. The choir consists of 4 people. The organist, one tenor, and two sopranos. I have had at least 20 people come up to me and said, "I will come to choir in a heartbeat if he isn't in there." (CHoir rehearsal last 1 hour exactly. If it runs over, he flickers and plays witht the light until they are done.) "He knows his way home! He lives just around the corner!"   The 'head organist' said that I can do a Christmas Cantata and do anything I want to. I could even move the choir pews to the front of the altar.   She shouldn't have said that. I'll have the organ renovated, enlarged, and improved by time she comes back.   However, Several people (chairpersons) have said that If she is gone for more than a month, she should be replaced permenantly. What do you think?   I will send a stoplist of the new organ designed for the church. If you feel that it isn't suitable, than just make the changes and then send through the list so others can see.   Thank you, Jason Comet bombarde8@juno.com |\ Worship Chairperson, Organ Curator, | \ organist, choir director, director of music, O and janitor at Bethany U.M. Also the PEDAL appears awfully weak for as much manual organ as mentioned! Might not more resources be devoted to PEDAL and less manual stuff?
