(back) Subject: Re: Canadian organ-builders From: Silkascots@aol.com Date: Sun, 14 Feb 1999 07:38:28 EST   One of those "smaller builders" Bruce spoke of is Denis Juget! Amazing instrument. Dr. Robert Gary, head of the organ department at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music has recently installed a small Juget in her home----and it is the talk of the town! His work is amazingly beautiful.   Mark

Gober has released a CD of two of his opi (that's opus pluralized?), one being in St. Giles Presbyterian in Sarnia, Ontario, the other in St. Sosa Lee in Toronto. They sound quite sprightly to me!   I'd be glad to post occasionally with updates once something significant starts up with our church tracker, if there's any interest -- as if I need to ask a question like that in a forum like this !!! :o)   Carl Snip   -----Original Message----- From: Bud/burgie <budchris@earthlink.net> To: pipechat <pipechat@pipechat.org>; organchat <organchat@onelist.com> Date: Saturday, February 13, 1999 1:20 PM Subject: Canadian organ-builders     >Given the current (and forseeable) rate of exchange, I suppose it >behooves us to look at Canadian builders. He will probably refer you to Denis Juget.   The last address I had for Denis was:   Denis Juget Facteur d'orgues 6, rue Lafrance est. (back) Subject: organ dedication From: "VEAGUE" <dutchorgan@svs.net> Date: Sun, 14 Feb 1999 21:36:07 -0500   Hi, Group... We here in Moscow, Indiana will have our organ dedication sometime in April, at the Moscow Christian Church. I have completed the installation of the little Wicks in the 250-seat sanctuary here. My question is....what the heck goes on for such a dedication? I have never attended one, and am curious. We are inviting local organists from surrounding churches in Shelbyville, Rushville, Waldron, and other corn field communities to participate. Anyone have any ' pearls of wisdom ' to enlighten me on this?   Rick Veague dutchorgan+AEA-svs.net http://www.svs.net/Dutch

(back) Subject: Re: organ dedication From: Bud/burgie <budchris@earthlink.net> Date: Sun, 14 Feb 1999 20:55:37 -0800   When we re-dedicated the relocated and restored Koehnken & Grimm at the Immaculata in Cincinnati, we had the organ-builder and his workers in the procession. As I recall, they "presented" the organ to the Parish Council, who then presented it to the priest for blessing; he then presented it to the congregation and we all whooped it up with "Grosser Gott, wir loben dich" on the full organ. Certainly your work, as well as the contribution of the donors (if any) should be acknowledged.   Cheers,   Bud   VEAGUE wrote:   > Hi, Group...
