As Flor > Peeters once said "those of you who think you know it all, please > don't annoy > those of us who DO".   You may not be kicked off, for I'm sure it was said with humor -- I HOPE you know the difference. I'm not sure anyone on this side of the aisle ever said electronic is as good -- only that it is a viable alternate when and if pipes aren't available. If I could have a pipe organ of equal or better spec than the electronic I do play, I'd jump at it . . . but I would not, under any circumstances, take a 2 or three rank organ that costs the same or more over the electronics that's there.   That's my opinion, and I'm gonna try to stay out of this now. It has passed from intellegent discussion to insanity.   D

The organ at King of Glory is a Rosales (Op. 17) tracker - 48 ranks. Below you will find John Scott Whiteley's concert programme, complete with my critique:   Rondeau from "Abdelazar" Henry Purcell (AWESOME) Prelude & Fugue in G Maj. BWV 541 J.S. Bach (Great) Sinfonia & Fugue in C minor J.S. Bach from "Ich hatte Viel Bekummernis" arr. J.S. Whiteley (Very fun and imaginative) Chorale III in A minor Cesar Franck (Great - He mastered this one!) Prelude & Fugue on B.A.C.H. Franz Liszt/ arr. J.S. Whiteley (a combination of Liszt's piano and organ arrangements on B.A.C.H.) Andante in F Henry Smart (a GREAT piece) Scherzo in A minor W.T. Best (the Best edition is the worst, te he - a great piece - HARD) Fantasia expansiva (on "Jesu Redemptor Omnium) J.S. Whiteley (STRANGE... I would NOT recommend it for a Sunday service) Sonata Eroica, Op. 94 Joseph Jongen (Wonderful display of color, texture and TECHNIQUE)   submitted by John A. Gambill, Jr. Organist/Choirmaster Oak Cliff Lutheran Church Dallas, Texas
