(back) Subject: The Meyerson Organ................... From: "Daryl Robinson" <darylrobinson@hotmail.com> Date: Thu, 25 Mar 1999 13:21:47 PST   I have just been asked to play a recital at several locations in Dallas and Fort Worth one of which includes the BIG Fisk tracker at the Meyerson and the other one the 260 rank Casavant at Broadway Baptist. I am looking for the stoplist for the organ and have not found it and becoming very frustrated. Can anyone here help me out?   Thanks, Daryl Robinson       Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
(back) Subject: The Preacher and the Music Director From: p.wilson2@juno.com Date: Thu, 25 Mar 1999 17:11:09 EST   THE PREACHER AND THE MUSIC DIRECTOR     There was a church where the preacher and the minister of music were not getting along. As time went by this began to spill over into the worship service.   The first week the preacher preached on commitment and how we all should dedicate ourselves to the service of God. The music director lead the song "I Shall not be Moved."   The second week the preacher preached on tithing and how we all should gladly give to the work of the Lord. The director led the song "Jesus Paid it All."   The third week the preacher preached on gossiping and how we should all watch our tongues. The music director led the song "I Love to Tell the Story."   With all this going on, the preacher became very disgusted over the situation and the following Sunday told the congregation that he was considering resigning. The musician lead the song "Oh Why Not Tonight?"   As it came to pass, the preacher did indeed resign. The next week he informed the church that it was Jesus who led him there and it was Jesus that was taking him away. The music leader lead the song "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."     ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. (back) Subject: Re: leather (removal tip) From: RMaryman@aol.com Date: Thu, 25 Mar 1999 18:10:33 EST   Rich -   Thanks for the tip about using Alcohol to remove leather/hide glue.   If you have a large-scale amount of leather to remove (from something like a Skinner pouchboard for example, I like the Thompson-Allen "Chinese Laundry" technique.   You lay a thick cotton colth over the pouchboard and mist generously with water, and then apply heat from an iron and gently peel back the cloth as you work your way down (or across) the pouchboard. the leather/glue comes off and then you only need to >lightly< sand the pouchboard before applying the new pouches. This technique is demonstrated on one of the AIO tapes on Skinner chest restoration.   Thanks again, and keep those tips and twchniques coming!!!   Rick Maryman Staunton VA
