(back) Subject: We're BACK!!! From: "Administrator" <admin@pipechat.org> Date: Fri, 15 Sep 2000 22:19:51 -0500   Folks   The changes have been made to the records at SWBell so mail should shortly be going through the PipeChat server. Sorry for the problems but they were beyond my control. I just glad they have been solved.   The IRC server was delivered today from Florida and the hard drive seems to have become "toast" in the process of shipping. I spent several hours trying to get it up and running for tonight's IRC session but no luck. Tomorrow I guess I need to get it a new drive and reinstall the software but by Monday night the PipeChat IRC group will up and running.   if you sent mail to the list earlier today or even last evening and it hasn't appeared as of yet please be patient. All the mail was being held by the "relay" mail server at SWBell.net and will be forwarded to the list. If you haven't seen your post after a day or two then please resend it but at least give the servers a chance to "catch up"before resending something.   David **************************************** David Scribner Owner / Co-Administrator PipeChat   http://www.pipechat.org mailto:admin@pipechat.org
(back) Subject: (Admin) trials and tribulations with technical matters From: "Tim Bovard" <tmbovard@arkansas.net> Date: Fri, 15 Sep 2000 23:24:38 -0500   Hello, Pipechatters!   As David has already said, it has indeed been a long evening spent attempting to convince various bits and pieces of computer equipment to start to do things that they are not accustomed to. We're not quite done with it all yet, but we trust that you all will bear with us during this time of transition. Hopefully, we have been successful enough for this message to reach you all.   We both appreciate your patience while all these various "bugs" are worked out...and look forward to the time (soon! VERY soon!) when everything = will be back to normal.   Come to think of it...everyone that (hopefully) reads this message has their *own* machine -- so you all might be able to start to understand = some of what we've been dealing with this evening... <grin>. We will have the List operating normally as soon as humanly possible. Please continue to bear with us.   Tim Bovard Pipechat Co-Administrator <tmbovard@arkansas.net>
