(back) Subject: [Cross-posted] Region III AGO soiree From: "Glenda" <gksjd85@access.aic-fl.com> Date: Mon, 11 Jun 2001 07:13:11 -0500   Just checking - I know there are lots going on in the world the last week = in June - New York AGO convention, OHS convention, maybe even Region IV AGO = in Jackson. I just wanted to know if anyone on the list plans to make Region III AGO convention in Bethlehem, PA. I plan to contaminate much of Pennsylvania and New York, on that week and the week prior, by my = presence.   So make sure your shots are up to date, and let me know if a meeting is in the cards. Otherwise, I'll have to call Miss Cleo and find out the expensive way!   Glenda Sutton

I was listening to our local FM classical music station today when the young lady announcing told us that the piece of music to which we had been listening was Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary in C, played by the London Brass with E. Power Briggs at the organ. Breathe deeply James, it will pass in a moment! Bob Elms.

Swank" <prswank@surfbest.net> Date: Mon, 11 Jun 2001 11:05:39 -0700   Glenda, and the rest of the gang:   Does anyone know why there are so many of the conventions the same week? It would seem to me that there could easily be an exchange of information between the few organ groups to make sure this does not happen. I had to choose between the AGO Region III and the OHS convention. The OHS won out this time.   The AGO regional conventions could more easily be held at the same times, (other than the fact that national AGO would probably be involved in all = of them). If there is not a "Master Calendar" for the next few years, why = not?   Paul R. (back) Subject: Rosevelt Stop Knobs From: "Roy Redman" <rredman@imagin.net> Date: Mon, 11 Jun 2001 20:46:02 -0500   I am in need of 16 Rosevelt oblique stop knobs. If four of these are the lighter wood that Rosevelt used for some stops, that would be fine. These oblique knobs are slightly different than those used by Hook and other builders. The face is at about 58 degrees. The faces are 15/16 in diameter with a thin wood rim around then which is flush with the ivory face. The ivory was obviously inserted into the knob and then sanded and buffed flush. Very elegant!!   If you have some of these knobs you would be willing to part with, please send me details and the price. Thanks!! Roy Redman

Many people have had their homes and businesses destroyed by the flood, and some have lost their lives. They need our prayers.   I haven't heard about the organ situation there. I hope it's all right. --- DanielW Hopkins <danielwh1@ns.sympatico.ca> wrote: > Would anyone here know of the Pipe Organ situation > in Houston Texas > a major flood has flooded the metropolitan area!!!! > > > > "Pipe Up and Be Heard!" > PipeChat: A discussion List for pipe/digital > organs & related topics > HOMEPAGE : http://www.pipechat.org > List: mailto:pipechat@pipechat.org > Administration: mailto:admin@pipechat.org > Subscribe/Unsubscribe: mailto:requests@pipechat.org >     __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
