I'll be the first to admit, but now that we have other things to think about Matt has gathered news and information from every conceivable source out there. These include the NYTimes, Post, BBC, Reuters, Yahoo, and countless publications I'd never heard of.   It is incredible how much evidence has turned up already... but that's because they got on it before the dust settled. There are articles that point to evidence and situations surfacing all over the world in connection with this weeks attacks.   The site is changing constantly as more information comes in. Basically for those who know of Matt Drudge, he isn't writing this stuff, he's compiling it into one source. There was stuff I read yesterday from sources that wasn't on CNN till this morning!   And by the way.. to all my left leaning friends, I'll be the first to agree that Jerry Falwell is a complete Ass also.... there is a complete story on his ridiculous comments along with Pat Robertson up there too. No one is spared!   Be informed!   OK.. that's it for a while! Wayne

(back) Subject: America the Beautiful [X post] From: "noel jones" <gedeckt@usit.net> Date: Fri, 14 Sep 2001 23:16:36 -0400   Of the many requests I have had for the reharmonization of the hymntune "America" (which we sing as "My Country, Tis of Thee) a number have come from around the world, from organists who wish to remember the United States in coming services, especially those who have visitors from the United States.   A number have mentioned "America the Beautiful" as sung by Ms. Graves today in the service from the National Cathedral. Since it is not available generally...and even unknown...outside of the United States, I have found a copy of the words and music and will forward it to anyone in need.   This was written in the late 1800's and is most definitely in the public domain as is the "America". The hymntune may be familiar to some as = "Materna".   Just email me and I will send it off.   noel jones

(back) Subject: Rain, Progress, and Hope From: <TubaMagna@aol.com> Date: Fri, 14 Sep 2001 16:16:54 EDT   Dear List Members:   Last night the rains came, at times torrential, sounding like sustained, unending tympani rolls on the skylights here. There are benefits and problems associated with the rain, most notably the problems: in addition = to it becoming treacherously slippery and loosening precariously perched = parts of structures, it also adds hundreds of thousands of tons of extra weight = to the debris. Anybody still alive in a basement might also face death by drowning.   One the plus side, it makes it easier for trained dogs to find bodies, = living and dead. By cleaning the air of all of this acrid particulate matter, = the dogs are more easily able to locate victims. Pulmonary injuries are = rampant here, and none of us really know what we inhaled; fortunately the rains = came just as the city exhausted its supply of eye wash and eye drops. We are still in need of work gloves, as the concrete and steel and glass are = being cleared by hand, bucket by bucket.   I was ripped with pain when I realized that the that rushing ambulances = had been replaced by slow, grim convoys of refrigerated trucks. The = succeeding waves of injured expected at the hospitals did not, alas, show up. It is only now that one sees surgeons and emergency workers sitting down, or = just lying on the sidewalk, weeping uncontrollably. Faced with their mission = to save lives, they put all of their emotions on hold, and are now so overwhelmed as to be speechless and sobbing.   We chose to go to work today, doing some final tuning on the three Temple organs before High Holy Days. We have about 70 ranks of the IV/135 = installed and playing, and although I had hoped to have the floating Tuba division installed in its new north gallery in time for New Years Eve, it will = enjoy its debut on Channukah. Our pet name for the 25" pressure hooded = Chazozerot is "Elmo." It was a slow and somber day -- I voiced the treble of the = Second of three Great Open Diapasons, and the rest of the folks are working on a Doppelflote for another client downtown.   I plan on attending the reception and concert for Felix Hell's birthday. = I am in need of music, which I have not heard since the day of the attack. = It will be good for us all spiritually, and it may be that at this very confusing time for a man to turn 16 years old, he needs us to be there, = too.   I would like to end by gently stating that I am neither a partisan nor a leftist; I am one of millions who are looking for comfort and leadership. = We are stunned and numb. New York City has become more united than ever, = and the rumors that we are rude and thoughtless are merely the stuff of movie scripts. Maybe we try to ACT tough because we want to be in the movies...   Hook and Ladder Company 3 - Water Tower Number 2 looks a bit like = Kensington Palace did the day after Princess Diana was so tragically killed. Yet the =   piles of flowers are parted, because those new faces in the replacement batallions keep coming and going, covered with soot. They have insisted = that we bring them no more food or gifts, they are so swamped. All they want = is sleep, and the greatest gift would be to erase from their minds the horror =   they must face again in the morning.   Sebastian

(back) Subject: Solemn Organ Music From: "Bruce Miles" <bruce@gbmuk.fsnet.co.uk> Date: Sat, 15 Sep 2001 09:49:39 +0100   Before the memorial service in St Paul's Cathedral, London, yesterday = among the music played before the service was 'Nimrod' from Elgar's Enigma variations , a piece which is etched into the British consciousness by its invariable use at the annual Armistice day ceremony at the Cenotaph. At St Paul's the congregation sang 'The Star Spangled Banner' as the first hymn and we shall do the same tomorrow at the 'Battle of Britain' memorial service at the Yorkshire Air Museum.   Also played at St Paul's was another heartrending piece, 'Elegy' - 1913' = by Hubert Parry - very moving and suitable for the occasion.   Another piece which moves me greatly, though it is seldom heard, is Karg-Elert's 'In Memorian' Op 142 No 9, perhaps played mp rather than ff = as written.   This is primarily an American tragedy, but it is also worldwide in its effect. Let us not forget that many hundreds of foreign nationals also perished. Estimates I have seen quote the number of casualties from other countries is more than 500.   Sympathies and best wishes to all.   Bruce Miles     mail to:- bruce@gbmuk.fsnet.co.uk website:- www.gbmuk.fsnet.co.uk
