(back) Subject: ALL READ Re: Holding mail From: "Administrator" <admin@pipechat.org> Date: Thu, 1 Aug 2002 19:34:06 -0500   Folks   Someone asked an innocent question about holding mail that has turned into a thread with long dissertations on email management on AOL, etc. ENOUGH!   Unfortunately, the PipeChat server, which hosts numerous lists besides PipeChat, does not have a NO MAIL setting currently. It is a requested feature for the next version of the server software but until that comes out I have no idea if it will be implemented. So for the time being if you are going away and will not be able to check your email you need to UNSUBSCRIBE. There is a link in every header to every email from the server that will unsubscribe your address from the list. There is also a link in every header to subscribe when you return from your travels. Some email programs don't automatically show the full headers as part of each email but there is always a way that you can access them within your program to find these links.   In all actuality, a question like this should be addressed to the ADMINISTRATION Account, which is in the footer of every email from the list. It should not go to the entire list. Tim and I, as the Administrators, do try to answer every question as soon as possible. But please remember, we do have our full-time jobs and other things in our lives besides these lists. So if you don't get a reply immediately, please be patient. For the last several weeks, we have only been home for a few days since we are both involved with the install of a new organ up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. When I'm on the road I don't have access to certain things like being able to reply from the Administration account although I do get all emails sent to that address. Plus with the long days that we work when doing an install we don't always have the time or energy to deal with some of these administration minutia while on the road.   Now back to Happy PipeChatting!!   David -- **************************************** David Scribner Owner / Co-Administrator PipeChat   http://www.pipechat.org mailto:admin@pipechat.org

Create a hotmail/yahoo/whatever address for junk mail, use that as = your address when you "register" 2. make up an email address and "register" with it.   I've done both, and mp3.com lets me go ahead and listen...   I NEVER give accurate info on myself when "registering" at these sites... it's none of their business!   Like Richard, I checked out the options on places to store/stream my mp3 files... mp3com is the best overall deal for those who don't want to pay big $$$ for this privilege. In the remote chance anyone might be interested, my music is at: = http://www.mp3.com/orwig   my $.02 worth....   Jonathan   > > At 07:45 PM 8/1/02 -0400, Alan Freed wrote: > >> Carolan - Celtic Organ 4 > >It sounded interesting, but I went there, and it wanted me > to register. > >Can you make it simpler to listen, and find out whether I'm > interested?   --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
