(back) Subject: ebay Estey From: <flcg1018@mails.fju.edu.tw> Date: Mon, 21 Jan 2002 21:06:27 +0800 (CST)         If you search Ebay and enter the key words, "Estey Pipe Organ" you will see that there is one for sale.... and no, I have no connection with this sale nor am I interested in buying this organ... for one thing, I don't have anywhere to put it...     Supposedly the organ has 4 ranks in the Great, 5 ranks in the Swell, and 1 rank in the Pedal.   The stop specification, as supplied to me by the seller is:   Swell:   Tremelo Aeoline 8' Blank tab with no marking Stopped Diapason 8' Flute D'Amour 4' Oboe 8'     Great:     Blankd Tab melodia 8' Flute Harmonic 4' Open Diapason 8'/     Pedal:   Dulciana 16' BOurdon 16'   Couplers:     Great to Pedal Swell to Pedal Swell to Great 8' Swell to Graet 4' Swell to Great 4' Great to Great 4' Swell to Swell 16' Swell to Swell 4'     From what I can see of the picture, I suspect that either the original marking may have come off the tabs or something affixed to the tabs with the stop name may have come off...     Assuming those two tabs stood for playable ranks, what ranks do you think they might have been?     If you do not care to reply to the list, you may send e-mails to me at:   flcg1018@mails.fju.edu.tw     Best wishes to all.     Morton Belcher
(back) Subject: New website at Saint Luke's, Manhattan From: "Alan Freed" <parishadmin@stlukesnyc.org> Date: Mon, 21 Jan 2002 12:09:38 -0500   It's a pleasure for me to announce the inauguration of Saint Luke's new website.   www.stlukesnyc.org   As you can see, it's a real .org site rather than the previous rough draft of the past year or so. There are plenty of music pages featuring the organ, cantor, choir, etc. I can recommend him strongly for anyone who's needing someone in that capacity; his name, on request offlist. He also did all the photography, not just the keyboard work. =20   Alan

Although a Model 10 is an old organ it might make a fair practice instrument for someone within driving distance of it. It is an AGO console. Please respond to the person below NOT to the list or the Administration account.   David   >From: "Kmetz, Peter" <kmetzpj@pweh.com> >To: "'admin@pipechat.org'" <admin@pipechat.org> >Subject: Baldwin Model 10 (s/n10-770-92) >Date: Mon, 21 Jan 2002 10:49:08 -0500 >Sender: <admin@pipechat.org> > >I am trying to find a home for a Baldwin Model 10 organ that I have to = part >with. Well I have just arrived back from his recital at Westminster Cathedral. He was to grace us with a rendition of Franz Schmidt's Chaconne but unfortunately his bag was snatched in Paris, so he admirably changed his programme at very short notice to the following.   Frank: Piece Heroique Vierne: Stele pour un enfant defunt Frank: Choral no 2 in B minor   Despite not having played the Frank for a number of years, he made a heroic performance. In my opinion, the Vierne was the most accomplished but the rest was still very good despite the circumstances and last minute change of programme. If any of you have had the pleasure to meet Arthur in person, you would note he is a charming, good humoured and friendly person with a magnetic personality. I also had the privilege to meet John White, also late of this list who also enjoyed the performance. Arthur tells me that he preferred his performance at Notre Dame earlier this month but I couldn't miss this rendition in such a vast arena as Westminster and to finally meet the person who has been the centre of controversy on this list. I hope he will be invited back to Westminster to play the Chacanne which I will associated with Arhtur. I have heard this CD and now look forward to hearing it live.   Ivan Lewis   Ivan, I'm glad you met Arthur. Sorry to hear about the bag snatch. Hope you encouraged him to come back on this list   Des Lewis   If the truth be told, the latest debate has made me miss the old bloke.   Gene     From: David Runnion <triodeia@e...> Date: Mon Jan 14, 2002 11:20 am Subject: Re: mc~ Arthur La Mirande: Westminster Cathedral Concert         Bruce Cornely < Cremona502@cs.com > with the Baskerbeagles in the Beagle's Nest ~ ""Haruffaroo, Bohawow!"
