Robert   =3D=3D=3D     She went out of business last year. I recall she announced via one of the organ user groups. I even sent an email to her expressing my regrets. I liked her catalog and newsletters. Fran Meyers

Just a couple of years ago a favorite of mine--not to mention 4 blocks from my apartment--and of many, J Fischer music store on Astor Place closed their doors and that was very sad. They actually had music that went back to the 40s (I mean it was physically printed back = then) and stuff you can't find anywhere including the original large sized Schirmer Schweitzer-Widor Bach editions. The building that was their = office building is now a condominium. Gentrification tends to suck, most of the time. Oh well, we go on. RBC =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D   Perhaps the music business isn't so great after all. Always tell your = local music store people how much you love them if you are so lucky. The business is that hard.   Ron Severin

(back) Subject: x-post: calling Northeastern AGO newsletter editors From: "Jonathan B. Hall" <jonathan@jonathanbhall.com> Date: Tue, 30 Jul 2002 07:01:43 -0700 (PDT)   Greetings--   I'm writing with my Chapter Newsletter Editor hat on today.   I'd very much like to be in contact with AGO chapter newsletter editors from the Northeastern United States (roughly, Washington DC to Maine, and east of the Susquehanna, but that is, pardon the expression, a fluid boundary).   The reason for this request has to do with possible eventual NYC chapter advertising on a regional basis, at least of particular events.   So if you are a 'newsletter person' in that approximate area, or can identify someone who is, please let me know. Private replies would be just great.   Also--I'm sorry to have to admit this, but I'm out of touch with the Northeast(ern) Organist magazine--and the current NEO website makes no mention of it at all. Does it still exist?   I'd be very happy to hear from any other organ-related publications or websites that serve this region as well. I'm aware of a goodly number of them, but probably not all of them!   Many thanks in advance.   jon NYC   __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! (back) Subject: Re: Sacred Heart organ Coronado Island From: <RonSeverin@aol.com> Date: Tue, 30 Jul 2002 16:40:35 EDT       Dear San Diego Listers:   I would like to get some information regarding the pipe organ in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Coronado Island. If possible the builder and the specification and the year built. The reason I'm interested in it is the fact that it was endowed with very fine accompnimental stops, smooth build up to full organ, and fine clarity through out. It also sported a polished brass party horn which was quite beautiful. I would appreciate any particulars I can get on this fine instrument. It's a real gem. Private replies are fine.   Ron Severin   PS Also same for the old Mission San Diego, also very fine.

Even though Ms. Sutton = is a serious professional musician, I don't think she was making a serious = inquiry as to the provenance of the principal liturgical acoustic winded = instrument at this particular venue. And I suspect she probably has her own private plane and pilot and maybe even a steward to provide gourmet meals and libations in flight. And even if she really is interested, perhaps she = could arrange to stop at Washington National and pick me up en route to turn = pages for her at the modest rate of $500 a week in addition to her stipend.   Now get back on the bench and work on those Trio Sonatas!
