(back) Subject: X-Post - Further Information on Rodgers problem From: "soulek@frontiernet.net" <soulek@frontiernet.net> Date: Thu, 21 Mar 2002 09:39:46 -0500   Here is some further information on the problem with the pipe addition to our organ. The organ is a 1984 model, and we pu= rchased the remote (D.C.) power supply, and the pipe driver board. We tested the power supply and the pipe driver board, = and there is power and communication going through. The Rodgers tech. said that the little green LED on the pipe driver b= oard should flash once every 6-8 seconds. Right now it dimly glows when keys are pressed.   As you will remember, the magnets do not function at all. The organ is programmed correctly, to the manufacturer's instru= ctions. The magnets have all been tested before, and all work.   When we test the driver board, (one point of the tester on ground, the other part on the note number, which is negative) = we get a constant reading of 10 volts, when the note is not activated. When a note is activated at the console, the readi= ng jumps down to zero volts, and after the key is let up....slowly builds back up to 10 volts.   I can't make much sense of this now at all. We were told that the common is connected to the + terminal of the magnets, a= nd it is. The - terminal of the magnets are each connected to their own terminal on the pipe driver board. I sure hope th= is is right.   Any other help? Thank you to everyone for their help already!!!!   Thanks!
