(back) Subject: RE: Relinquishing the bench/New Organ From: "Glenda" <gksjd85@access.aic-fl.com> Date: Fri, 3 May 2002 20:11:50 -0500   This is a multi-part message in MIME format.   ------=3D_NextPart_000_0006_01C1F2DE.C9A2DD80 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=3D"us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit   There are several ways of getting a new organ or having an old one restored: (1) Build a fabulous choir and music program, and take the choir to churches to sing where there is great liturgy and wonderful organs. They will get on fire, to paraphrase Will Smith in "Independence Day", to "get them one of those". (2) Find one or two daddy warbucks and shamelessly pander to them, their musical tastes and egos, so that they will dedicate the money. (3) A suggestion from Steve Martin as part of his strategy: "YOU can be a millionaire and never pay taxes." First, find a million dollars. (4) Be on the lookout for those "million dollars on sale" buys at the bank. (5) Buy or start a bank of your own. You will note that none of these methods encourage illegal activity. However, none of these particular modes worked for me: I had no choir, no means of getting one, and no where to put one; I had no daddy warbucks and no means of rummaging up any; I have given away all my millions before becoming interested in organs; and I never got the flyer for the bank sale until it was too late. Hope this helps.
