Where will it end?   Some of today's songwriters actually brag of their lack of formal musical training, with the statement that God just gives them a tune and they perform it. Blame it on God? I think not.     =3D=3D=3D you wrote on the subject: =3D=3D=3D Conventional taste is hijacked and deprived of any cognizance of what constitutes great Musical Art.   __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The problem is, that too many people in the church believe that too. I've had 13 years of music training in piano, organ, voice, french horn, percussion and conducting, and I have a BM in organ performance on the way. I've also been at my current church for three years now. I have a desk in the corner of the robe room. When we started a contemporary service this past January, guess who got an office? That's right, the part time guy that can strum a guitar and probably at best barely read music who leads the "emotional" side of the church. I wonder where myself and the other trained organists will be in 20 years.   Tyler W.
