(back) Subject: Re: Scandinavian music recordings From: "Jonathan Orwig" <giwro@earthlink.net> Date: Sat, 14 Jun 2003 22:25:39 -0700   Josiah,   One has to search for such things...   I have 3 recordings of Scandanavian organ music, 2 of them old LPs now out of issue   The first is of the 3rd organ concerto and 5th Organ Symphonie of Gunno Sodersten (Sweden) I managed to track down the score to all 6 of his organ syms. Fascinating stuff   The second is of the music of Knut Nystedt and Egil Hovland... a = fascinating collection   The third is a CD of the music of Arild Sandvold - somewhat Regeresque, = but nicely written   I have a number of CDs of the music of Polish composer Feliks Nowowiejski = - all 9 organ symphonies and 2 of the 4 concertos for solo organ. Some have dismissed = his music as less than inspired, but I found in interesting. The MDG recording of the 9 = Syms is still available, but I prefer the Jerzy Erdmann recording on CPO (not a full 9, but much = more passionately played) The 3rd CD is a Erdman again, but this time on a Polish label.... alas, I fear the disc is out of issue.   Hope this helps!   Jonathan Orwig     ----- Original Message ----- From: "Josiah Armes" <SoliDeoGloria87@earthlink.net> To: "PipeChat" <pipechat@pipechat.org> Sent: Saturday, June 14, 2003 5:26 PM Subject: Re: Scandinavian music recordings     > At Saturday 6/14/2003 08:17 PM, you wrote: > >On 6/14/03 8:01 PM, "Josiah Armes" <SoliDeoGloria87@earthlink.net> = wrote: > > > > > I am new to the list.
