On this side of the pond, = many of the Theatre Organs in use today would not have been had it not been for = the "amateurs".   Just curious... were where "the professionals" when the Los Angeles Wiltern Kimball was broken up for parts, when the Los Angeles Elks Robert = Morton was removed (to who knows where...), and the Hollywood Pacific Theatre = Marr & Colton? All three were the largest Theatre Organs built by those = firms. The Elks Morton was really more of a concert instrument (but was the firms 2nd = largest ever built... the long gone USC Morton was the largest).     Best Regards,   Bob Bass "Tibs"   Who would be very interested in knowing what happened to the Morton that = took so many of his Saturdays.

(back) Subject: Re: IRC chat From: "Bob Conway" <conwayb@sympatico.ca> Date: Sat, 10 May 2003 22:06:05 -0400   Bud is quite right, some of us use the IRC channel to test out the fancy software that people with low vision have to learn how to use, - in fact, only a couple of weeks ago, I managed to sort out a new programme that allows my computer to actually read out whatever comes up on the screen during a chat session.   Especially if the program needs another person to assist, in my case, I enlisted the help of Mack, one of the regulars on Pipechat.   Bob Conway   Bob Conway   At 06:52 PM 5/10/03 -0700, you wrote: >It runs all the time ... that's what Big Brother is for ... he's the bot >that holds it open. > >Cheers, > >Bud > > > "Ryan C. The server runs all the time, I'm not about to try to remember to bring it up for the scheduled chats. Once in awhile, I know that a couple of people might be on there but that is usually kind of a "private" chat that they arrange between themselves. Anyone in the group is free to use the server at any time but that rarely happens outside of Monday and Friday chats.   David -- **************************************** David Scribner Owner / Co-Administrator PipeChat   http://www.pipechat.org mailto:admin@pipechat.org
