(back) Subject: various From: "dballesteros" <dballesteros@uol.com.br> Date: Sun, 25 Jan 2004 22:44:18 -0200   Dear list   I want to thank o all who help me about Gern. I learn very much in these messages. So, some latter considerations:   Colin: I was to N.P.O.R (now, I know that means) and ressearched. I saw the photo you talk. I remember when I turned to my church, and the 'white elephant' already was here. I remember, anybody tell me, that the fa=E7ade pipes were painting because the 'owner's organ' found uggly the original color. Today, when I saw the Gern's organ photo, I thought (and it is no more that one suposition), perhaps the original color of the pipes of organ (my church) was same of the photo. (BTW, the pipes were painted with paint for car - automotive).   Mike, I thank you for your kind words. I read many times your message and, how one says in Brazil, it "made massages in my ego."   I think, I write very, very litle times and when write, I write very, very little words. There are two reasons for that. The first is the language. I spend very time to write one message like this. The second is Iand perhaps the 'second'be in truth de 'first) my difficulties with the subject 'organbuildery". I have been studying a lot, but this matter it is (also how we saying in Brazil)"a bottomless sack". When one think he knows something, he discover it is missing very much... How I already stated, next saturday, I'll go to France in a vacance trip. I'll visit various organbuilder. I already confirmed visit to six. I admit to you, this will be a fantastic experience, because I never saw one atelier or organbuildery in my life. So, for first time I'll see things that I only saw in the books.   Andr=E9s, one more time, I thank you very much, not only for this last messages, but for the many others posted privately when I need help. This week will be one hard week because the trip. I have much to make. But, when I return (Friday 13: "I will be back"...) I'll started my ressearch about my white elephant, using all you taught me.   Thank you for the everybody.   Finally, I want to share my future plans for the White Elephant subject:   I'll ressearch   The disposition stops of Gern's organ The possible Britsh exportation in the 19 century of the one organ to Brazil. The original console of the Anglican Church in Rio, before de restauration by Berner (photos, stop disposition). The Berner's organ in S=E3o Paulo, matching the two organs (my church and S. Paulo) matching the chest, the materials, the pipes (using the Andr=E9s Class).   And so on...   Dear list, I will go to bad. Good night.   Domitila   --- Acabe com aquelas janelinhas que pulam na sua tela. AntiPop-up UOL - =C9 gr=E1tis! http://antipopup.uol.com.br

(back) Subject: Quick! I need Help w/ Sibelius (xpost) From: <Innkawgneeto@cs.com> Date: Sun, 25 Jan 2004 21:07:27 EST   To those of you that use Sibelius,   I wish to write some psalm settings for my choir. I want to write a = refrain, and then on a separate grand staff write the psalm tone.   How do I set this up on a single page of music in Sibelius? Do I need to = put the tone music on a separate page, then copy it ONTO the refrain page?   Thanks a lot in advance for your assistance. Private e-mail is fine, to avoid unnecessarily taking up space on the list.   Neil Brown
(back) Subject: Easter Anthem? From: <Steskinner@aol.com> Date: Sun, 25 Jan 2004 21:22:53 EST   Dear listers;   I am ashamed to say I am stumped every year for a suitable Easter Anthem. =   How 'bout listing our favorites? My taste leans toward flashy with = substance, real organ and brass ensemble accompaniment (crafted in such a way the = choir can be heard), and a big, MGM ending.   My contribution: Risen! I could not believe what a = good player he. So much musicality and maturity for someone so young. Just amazing. He was playing on an Austin. He played for 2 hours and it was a monster program. Such a nice chap too. Mari St Petersburg
