(back) Subject: Re: William Nutting Jr. From: "John L. Speller" <jlspeller@swbell.net> Date: Wed, 2 Jun 2004 07:38:19 -0500   William Nutting, Jr., was born in Randolf Center, VT on March 28, 1815 and died in Bellows Falls, VT on October 21, 1869. His parents were William Nutting, Sr., (b. c. 1786 in Weathersfield, Windsor, VT) and Mary Hubbard. William Nutting, Sr.'s parents were Abel Nutting and Polly Boynton.   I haven't visited the Nutting organ in Grafton, but there was another in Maine which we visited on an OHS convention.   John Speller   ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judy A. My father and = I myself faced it- a nasty schock at 9,30 pm: "DARN- did I shut off the blower???", and then choice: a) to call the pastor or sexton and beg him = to check out (getting a juicy #&%$/&!? with all justice) or b) have a = sleepless night.   Since then I made a standard of wiring the console lights with the blower system. Blower on - lights on. Some of our organs have lamps installed in the facade for the choir. I wire these too with the blower. Or a single light bulb on a visible point of the choir loft. Problem solved!   Cheers Andres =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D First was the cat, then was the Orgler. (back) Subject: Re: Blower shut off remind, was: cutting music programs could be dangerous to your parish From: "Andy Lawrence" <andy@ablorgans.com> Date: Wed, 2 Jun 2004 08:31:58 -0500   On the organ I play regularly, we were concerned because so many different =   people play it, so we installed a switch on the rolltop that actually = sounds an alarm if someone tries to close the rolltop with the blower on. Of course, one could accidentally leave the rolltop open, _and_ the blower = on, but at least then you see that the power light is on, and probably the = music rack light is on. It is possible to turn off the music rack light without =   turning off the blower, but takes extra effort so its not likely to happen =   by accident.   Andy     A.B.Lawrence Pipe Organ Service PO Box 111 Burlington, VT 05402 (802)578-3936 Visit our website at www.ablorgans.com
